Mayor’s Comments

I would like to thank my family for supporting me today, I can think of no

other honor, than to serve the community that has provided me with so

much over the years. One goal I have is to give back to the community

that gave me so much. After a year of service on this committee, I have

yet to find a single issue that has fallen under a political umbrella. I plan to

serve under a “forced bi-partisanship”, to do what is best for the common

good of Barnegat. Many decisions will no longer be based on what

political party is in power, but rather which decision is best for the town.

Welcome to a new year, welcome to a new administration and a new

methodology.

Deputy Mayor Lisella

Thank you to my family and friends for coming and supporting me today.

Over the past few years we have witnessed the stalemate occurring in

Washington as a result of bitter bi-partisan politics. The inability of our

representatives to work together is disheartening. Unfortunately the

problems of Washington impact all of us, and place all elected officials in a

bad light. At the local level we can not afford to allow petty politics to

stand in the way of progress. Today represents a new year in Barnegat, a

new year in which bi-partisanship and cooperation will be the foundation

for which good, strong and productive government will be built. I wish to

publicly thank Mayor McCabe for selecting me as her Deputy Mayor.

Committeeman Bille

Thank you to my family for supporting me today. Thank you to all that had

assisted with my campaign, and my wife for providing much moral

support. For any government to be successful there must be a

willingness to put aside political differences, so compromises can be

reached on important issues. Consensus building is the cornerstone to

good government. Politics will take a back seat to good decision making

that will greatly benefit the town. Many achievements will be realized in

2014. Congratulations to Susan and Marty for assuming leadership roles,

both of you will do outstanding job on behalf of Barnegat.

3

Committeeman Morano

Being on this committee for eighteen years has all been worth it. I see

Barnegat moving forward. As with this bi-partisan committee we want

good government and lower taxes for the residents. Thank you all for

coming out today.

Committeewoman Taylor

I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year. One of my campaign

promises was transparency, committee meetings will now be televised

within the first half of the New Year. Last May our first annual senior fair

was a great success, and our second will be held this year at the high

school. I have also worked hard on an ordinance that will clean up areas

in Barnegat where we have rentals properties, and make the absentee

landlords more accountable to their tenants and to the town. I would like

to thank Mayor McCabe and Deputy Mayor Lisella on working together to

make this committee bi-partisan, and I feel the upcoming year will be truly

exciting on this committee.

Motion to Open Public Comment: A. Bille Second: L. Morano

Marianne Clemente – 565 E. Bay Avenue: I am happy to hear about bipartisanship

and transparency. Our hope is all five of you as a committee

working together. Please do your best to work for us, the people.

Dennis Tredy – Mayor of Waretown: I offer my congratulations to all of the

committee members. We have a tremendous shared services agreement

that work very well with our two towns. 2014 will be another great year.
