BARNEGAT RECYCLING CENTER IS LOCATED AT 5 LIPPENCOTT AVENUE.  HOURS OF OPERATION ARE MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 7AM TO 2PM AND SATURDAY 8AM TO NOON.

For Recycling pick up, Recycling CANNOT be put in plastic trash bags. They need to be loose in a container NO LARGER than 32 gallons

When placing your recycling out for collection, please separate your bins by a few feet to allow easier pick-up.

Recycling is picked up every week.

ACCEPTABLE RECYCLING ITEMS

Junk mail, catalogs, envelopes, office paper, pamphlets, brochures, advertisements, empty brown bags, corrugated cardboard, newspapers

Empty aerosol cans, aluminum, tin and steel cans, clear, green and brown glass, plastic beverage, detergent, shampoo and food containers

UNACCEPTABLE RECYCLING ITEMS

Shredded paper, Pizza boxes, cereal or gift boxes, 6 and 12 pack beverage cartons, carbon paper, paper towels, foil, aluminum foil pans, paper juice cartons

Anti-freeze containers, tub type containers (margarine), light bulbs, windows, dishes, plastic solo cups and plates, Styrofoam plates and cups, plastic tableware

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Refrigerators, Freezers, De-Humidifiers, Air-Conditioners
collected by APPOINTMENT every week for a $10 charge (non-refundable). Payment to be made at the Clerks office, Monday thru Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM.

Bulk Metal Pick Up
Collected by APPOINTMENT every week.  Metal is picked up on Wednesdays.

 TV’s Computers, Monitors and Printers and all small appliances – will be picked up curbside each Friday. Call 609-698-0080 ext 120 to schedule.

Propane Tanks, Tires, Auto & Boat Batteries : picked- up each Friday, (Items with a fee must be paid in the Clerk’s office, fee’s paid are non-refundable).

  • Propane ($5 charge) (non refundable)
  • Tires- must be off rim $3 charge (non refundable)
  • Boat and Auto Batteries  will be collected curbside by appointment at no charge.  Call Public Work’s office  (698-0080 ext 120)

Used Motor Oil can be dropped off at the Public Works Garage Monday through Friday  6:30am – 2:30p.m, please locate a Public Works employee before disposing of oil.

Rechargeable Batteries – drop off at Town Hall (only recycle rechargeable & button cell type batteries, all others are trash.)

Phone Books – are Recyclable and may be placed out on your recycling day.

Technotrash – Container is located in Town Hall and will accept diskettes, CD’s, DVD’s, Video, audio and computer tapes, Jewel Cases and Video Cases, Printer Cartridges (all types), Cell Phones, Pages and PDA’s, Handheld Devices and Accessories for a full list of what can be placed in the cardboard box and restrictions go to www.greendisk.com

We proudly offer Vial of Life decals to our community for free. We feel that the Vial of Life Project is a most important program for protecting seniors and others in need.
